Thank you letter from S. L.

Thank you for allowing S. to enhance her writing abilities. S.’s teacher is impressed with her improvement in her writing. Her goal has always been to become a writer, and we are so grateful to TTS for helping her reach this goal. TTS has made a remarkable difference in S.’s academic growth.

A’s Mother

My name is S. L., and I am writing gratefully to your one-to-one tutoring support with the subsidy. My entire elementary and high school life was successful only because of your continued tutoring support from elementary to grade 12. You helped me without funding delays or refuses. Without your ongoing support, I do not think I would be able to get into UBC with the Centennial Entrance Scholarship.

Today, I’m at UBC because of you. I started my first year with General Arts. I’m planning to declare my major in the second year. I plan to major in Psychology/English or minor in English/Psychology. My lifelong dream of attending Law school is moving forward. I should have written this letter a little earlier.

But there were health issues, a full-time student job placement during summer, preparing for post-secondary and busy working with the scholarship applications. I delayed expressing my sincere thanks to you, and I’m sorry. I have completed my first three weeks at UBC. I am taking this time to display all my gratitude to you.
I live with my mother, father, and older brother. My father works hard as the family’s sole wage earner, long hours and extra shifts in the restaurant industry as a kitchen helper. My mom conscientiously and meticulously cares for all of us and is a homemaker who takes care of my round-the-clock special medical
and educational needs. My brother is a full-time post-secondary student.

We live hand-to-mouth, depend on, and are grateful for the generosity of others and the kindness of strangers. Supporting our education has always been a financial burden. Thankfully our family got to know your service when my brother and I were in kindergarten. You helped us to succeed in our entire school
life. My brother became a BSc graduate in April 2022. Now, he started his journey through his master’s in September 2022 at UBC. I’m in my first year of post-secondary. Without your support, I cannot imagine how our education journey would be. Our whole family is taking this time to thank you, the TTS team,
from the bottom of our hearts

Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope that one day, I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped my brother and me. I am working hard and focusing on my studies without distractions until my dreams come true.
Thank you so much for your generosity again.
Sincerely,
S. L.
